It contains the mitogen phytohemagglutinin (PHA) for the growth stimulation of lymphocytes. This product contains traces of animal-derived components (< 0.2% w/v) and proteins (< 0.2% w/v). APPLICATION: Panserin 701 has been developed for the serum-free cultivation of lymphocytes from whole blood. The plant lectin (PHA) in Panserin 701 stimulates cell division.
NEOGEN GC Agar, 500 g
GC Agar is used with lysed blood and other supplements for the isolation and cultivation of Neisseria gonorrhoeae and other fastidious organisms. GC Agar is not intended for use in the diagnosis of disease or other conditions in humans.A nutritious agar base described by Thayer and Martin for the isolation of Neisseria gonorrhoeae. The rich peptone mixture is enhanced by the use of corn starch to absorb toxic metabolites and a buffering system is used to maintain neutral pH. The medium is made selective by the use of various antibiotic cocktails. Thayer and Martin originally recommended the use of vancomycin, colistin and nystatin and the addition of trimethoprim which is useful in preventing the swarming of proteus. Muller-Kauffmann Tetrathionate-Novobiocin Broth is used for the selective and differential isolation of Salmonella spp. in a laboratory setting and is included in ISO 6579:2017. This medium is not intended for use in the diagnosis of disease or other conditions in humans. A selective enrichment medium for the detection of Salmonella spp. in food, animal feed and in environmental samples from the food production area as described in ISO 6579-1:2017. Mueller originally described a tetrathionate broth that inhibited lactose fermenting Enterobacteriaceae but not Salmonella. Kauffmann later modified the formulation to include ox bile and brilliant green to improve selectivity. Finally, Jeffries added Novobiocin to inhibit Proteus species.
